  • 1% for the Planet

1% for the Planet is a global network of companies and individuals who donate 1% of their annual revenue to fight climate change. The funds raised are directed to various non-governmental organizations that fight against pollution of forests, oceans and rivers, protect the land and look for ways to sustainably develop agriculture and energy. The organization was founded in 2002 by two businessmen - Patagonia founder Yvonne Schwinard and Blue Ribbon Files owner Craig Matthews, as it meets those who know how and by what means to fight for the preservation of our Blue Planet, and those who have the financial resources to do so.

In 2015, XCoSports Bulgaria and Basecamp became members of 1% for the Planet. Since then, Basecamp shop has donated 1% of it's annual turnover to fight climate change. So far, they have donated over BGN 50,000, with the help of which many successful projects have been implemented with Bulgarian environmental organizations, addressing issues at the local level and efforts to protect Bulgarian nature and wildlife.

  • Climate Neutral

XCoSports Bulgaria became member of the organization in 2022. Climate Neutral certification is based on internationally recognized standards for carbon measurement, neutrality and compensation. Each company must measure the greenhouse gas emissions for the previous calendar year according to indicators from Scope 1, 2 and 3, covering its entire production chain. The company must then purchase verified carbon credits to offset its entire footprint. This directs investment in critical carbon capture projects such as forest protection, renewable energy and carbon capture technologies.

In cooperation with Climate Neutral, XCoSports Bulgaria measures its carbon footprint in 2021, buys carbon credits to fully offset it, and creates plans to reduce its emissions in the future. Thus, for 2021. the company compensates 386 tons of CO2e.
