With over 20 years of service as a firefighter and more than 15 years of active participation in ultramarathons, Dimitar Atanasov is a well-established name in mountain and long-distance running. Over the years, he has achieved numerous top rankings in Bulgaria and abroad. In his home country, he has won almost every race he has entered. His victories at Pirin Ultra are particularly memorable, where he set course records for two consecutive years. His success continues with excellent performances at Tryavna Ultra, Persenk Ultra, and other key ultramarathons. In 2023 and 2024, he was honored with the title “Ultrarunner of the Year.” For 2025, his program includes the E3 and E4 trails, as well as several races in Bulgaria and abroad. During his training and on the courses, Dimitar relies on Scarpa shoes, Patagonia sportswear and Black Diamond poles — trusted partners in the toughest conditions.
