Madshus is a Norwegian ski and ski-equipment manufacturer, located at Biri in Gjøvik, producing cross-country skis and ski-boots. The ambition was born in 1906 in a barn on the Vardal farm belonging to Martin Madshus’ father. Crafting his first wooden skis with hand-made tools, the obsession was cemented. Martin’s keen eye for materials focused intently on his core material, the raw wood purchased for shaping skis. Nearly 120 years later Madshus is still making his skis, shoes and sticks with equal precision for both the professional athletes and the end-user line. The company uses only the highest technology materials for its products and at the same time shows its responsibility for nature by taking away the use of PVC for Madshus RED, Champion, Race Performance and certain Backcountry and Junior Shoes.
